Windows-heavy enterprise customers managed hundreds of interconnected EC2 components with limited visibility into workload boundaries, dependencies, or business context. Existing assessment tools relied on long, manual discovery cycles, often taking up to 18 months before teams could make confident modernization decisions.

MHSR tackled the challenge of turning ML-driven modernization recommendations into an actionable enterprise workflow. As UX Lead, I defined the product direction under high ambiguity by introducing workload grouping: a way to translate low-level infrastructure signals into business-meaningful workload views. This helped customers understand modernization opportunities at the application level, evaluate trade-offs, and move from raw technical assessment to clearer decision-making.

Early beta feedback validated the value of holistic workload visualization and explainable recommendations. The experience reduced modernization planning time from months to days and shaped MHSR’s roadmap as a core EC2 modernization capability.
